UG missing the "How to interpret formatting used in this document"

I couldnt find a section that tells me how to interpret text that are formatted in a specific way. Perhaps it could be clearer to define them at the start to make it easier for the reader to interpret the different formats used.

For eg. what does something in codeblock mean? Does it refer to part of a command? or a part of a filename?

What do text in bold mean?

Misleading notes about command format

As shown in the image below, it is not clear whether lower_case/ is a prefix, or the type of text.

Could be clearer to say that all prefixes are in lower case

Unclear on how to use unit

The UG does not give any example on how to use unit and it is very confusing for the user. Should there be a space before unit?
Perhaps, it would be clearer to include it in the format and give specific examples on its usage.

Able to add 3 digit month/day

As shown in the image below, adding a 3 digit month does not result in an error even though it does not follow the format DD-MM-YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY as specified in the
UG section 5.1.1. Adding a food item

Similarly for day
