Version 2 of the Dataverse Data Explorer.

If the DDI needed for the Data Explorer can't be retrieved for some reason, display an error message after a certain number of tries/amount of time, rather than the continuous loading spinner that currently displays.
New feature to add:
Implement the ability to apply filters to cross-tabulations
to download packages I had to append --save --legacy-peer-deps
- suggest adding this to README.md
Hi
Apologies for the duplicate with a recently sent email.
As I am quite new to this please forgive any inaccuracy. This looks promising but I don't manage to make it work. Blame it on me, probably.
I'm taking the first (complete) file in this dataset as a base : https://demodv.scholarsportal.info/dataset.xhtml?persistentId=doi:10.80240/FK2/MFAASB

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi! We are playing around with Data Explorer v2 over at Harvard Dataverse:
I've noticed some strange behavior when I try my 2023-01-03.tab file at https://dataverse.harvard.edu/file.xhtml?fileId=6867331&version=4.0
I end up on this URL:
When I click "view categories" for language, the console tells me "bad API key":
The bad API key/token is "null" from this URL:
https://dataverse.harvard.edu/api/access/datafile/6867331?format=subset&variables=v30256085&key=null
Now here's the interesting thing. If I hack on the URL and enter a valid API key like this...
... the plot looks fine when I click "view categories":
This is ok in a pinch but a public dataset shouldn't need any API key at all, right?

Similar to the preview mode for file previewers, create an in-page preview mode for the Data Explorer. This should ideally hide the header and set the language based on what is set in the DV UI.
Hi, I am integrating data-explorer as an external tool for dataverse. After finishing the installation, I ingested a tab file to test it. When I click the explore button, it shows:
It seems that it couldn't find the piwik.js file and my metadata information(https://dataverse.shanghai.nyu.edu:8080/api/access/datafile/88/metadata/ddi?fileMetadataId=43&key=9aeb3106-d30d-462c-9d7b-6e6e386a15e0).
I tried to find piwik.js file with the "find" command in my server but it found noting. Anyone knows how to deal with it?
Signed URLs as a more secure alternative to API tokens will be supported in a future version of Dataverse, probably 5.13 since the pull request has already been merged:
For now you can read the docs here: http://preview.guides.gdcc.io/en/develop/api/external-tools.html#authorization-options
@bappun just asked about it and I'd love to see this too. Thanks! ๐
