Scarf Gateway is a universal redirect layer for any digital artifact or URL, anywhere online. Scarf Gateway acts much like a customizable link shortener that also lets you serve software like Docker containers, Python packages, or anything other kind of software you distribute.
We are considering adopting scarf.sh gateway for the cert-manager Docker images,
and one of our reasons is to improve the availability of the Docker images in case of an outage with the backing registry.
Therefore I want to know what is the availability track record of the scarf gateway.
I see five outages in the three months between 1 September 2023 and 1 December 2023 in the uptime calendar, but I can't find a record of these incidents in the uptime history so it's difficult to know how serious these were.
Pulling a container locally on a mac requires me to hit my internal network IP and register that as an insecure registry in order for the pull to work. Going to localhost always fails because Docker is trying to use ipv6.
