I don't see the added value of a dedicated hotkey to insert a pair of quotes, sorry... That's not like pressing a single key instead of 2 would change something.

I'm gonna comment your reply than I close this issue.

We have a lot of people that is creating workflows in Obsidian around only the keyboard.

Users with this mindset is always looking for ways to make things faster in Obsidian.

Two points that about this ....

1️⃣

My hotkey for open Omnisearch is CRTL+~ which is above the TAB key in my keyboard.

Most of my search comes from compound words: if I type Michael Jordan -> I don't wanna see results for Michael and for Jordan -> I just wanna see results from Michael Jordan.

That's why #25 was important to me :)

Since my finger is already placed in ~, pressing TAB before typing Michael Jordan is something that changes something for me

  • it's easy and natural for someone who spend a lot of hours in Obsidian.

It's pretty common for Obsidian Plugins that uses a modal as core feature to have keyboard hotkey helpers.

The spectacular AQS and QS++ uses this a lot. Even the core plugin Quick Switcher has this.

Forgive if my FR was a dumb idea. I will try to do better in the next FR from this plugin that I really like and use all the time.

I really needed a I way to search in Obsidian only with the keyboard and I am grateful for your work :)

I get that, and Omnisearch is 100% useable with the keyboard. That's not a "dumb" FR, it's just super-specific to you, your own workflow, and your own keybinds 🤷‍♂️
