@jld23 things are out of whack between the repo and PYPi. In the repo, here, there's a 2.4.4 version that says it's the latest. 2.4.5 is a 'pre-release', and there's no such thing as 2.4.6. Current version.py at main is 2.4.5.
In PYPi, there is no 2.4.4, but there is a 2.4.5 and a 2.4.6, which is latest there, and that apparently doesn't work. Saw a comment in Communities about this too.

Sorry for the delay. This is now fixed at with version 2.4.9 There was a data packaging issue and the whl files were silently failing.
pip install SAS-kernel['jlab_ext'] should give you everything you need.
