I would suggest to outsource texts in extra language files. Depending on the system language, these should then be loaded and displayed to the user (you might want to add an extra option here if the user wants to use a different language for the program). Moreover, English would still make sense as a fallback language.
I could help with the translation into German.
I've remapped the min/max key sequences to Alt + [Down Arrow] and Alt + [Up Arrow] in the config, but my alteration doesn't survive reboots. I have to do this remapping every time I restart my device. Do I need to run MTT as Admin to make the remap persist?
I'm running Windows 11 23H2.
BTW, I love the simplicity of this app. Other than this reported issue, MTT Just Works(tm), and beautifully, at that. :)
A feature I've been wanting from a program is being able to hide things already inside the "hidden icons" menu in the system tray, and I think it would fit MinimizeToTray as it already does this with windows. I'd like the ability to completely hide the Windows Defender's or any other programs' icon to minimise on the amount of things clogging up my system tray.
I'd like to be able to go from
to
without having to actually close any of these programs.
Softwareloads, but Alt-F1, Alt-F2 and Shift-Esc do not function and nothing gets minimized to the tray. Is this app development abandoned?
OS:windows 7 professional x64
MinimizeToTray version :2.2
step 1. open chrome with a tab A
step 2. open a new tab B and draw it to a new single window , connect a site like youtube
step 3. alt + f1 to hide tab B youtube window
step 4. switch to tab A use shift + esc open chrome built-in task manager
now you will see MinimizeToTray has gone .
Is it possible to allow user to add app's path to MinimizeToTray,
so when user launch these apps, MinimizeToTray will minimize them automatically
Hello,
Is there a command line feature in order to hide a particular exe running ?
Thank you!
When I launch the app it automatically deletes itself and the files it uses. This happened when I updated it to v2.4. In previous versions there was no problems.
Windows 11 Insider edition.
The picture below shows MinimizeToTray's menu after a complete shutdown & restart and using ALT+F1 once. It looks like it's kept 28 from the last 28 restarts.
It's version 2.1, took me a while to work out how to find that, you should have an "About" option which includes anything you'd like to know.
I think the title says it all. But briefly why: It is easier for the user than to put the program into the autostart.
new version of xlrd will fail to update language
after i search new version(2.0.1) will fail load for xlsx file, need use 1.2.0 for work.
(P.S.: 1.2.0 is least work for my case)
Hello,
Thanks for this great application.
Unfortunatly, extra settings are not saved accross sessions.
If I activate "return focus to window" it works during the current session, but won't be activated if I quit/relaunch the program.
Could you please help me ?
Thanks
RE: #2
It seems to me that if the app can't bind to a hotkey then a message should be displayed.
Other than that I just noticed that "Restore all hidden Windows" is bound to F10, I don't want the key hijacked and I don't plan on using that function so I tried "None" but the app reports "HotKeys must not be empty". If the tray menu provides the function you should not force the user to use hotkeys other than for "Hide active Window" (as focus lost).
I'm curious on why Malwarebytes is quarantining this? VirusTotal has 4 detectors as well. Wasn't an issue before but now is?
I recently installed new Windows updates, and WhatsApp for Windows was updated as well. Following the recent WhatsApp update, MinimizeToTray no longer hides the WhatsApp icon from the taskbar. It does, however, successfully hide the WhatsApp window.
MinimizeToTray version 2.4
MinimizeToTray opens and is found in my sys tray as expected but nothing happens when I click on it. A sub menu comes up and the choices wont open the gui that I have seen on some tutorials. I haven't a clue how to resolve this. I have downloaded from two separate sources, one being github
I think it would be useful if there was an option to set focus to the last restored window.
I've no knowledge of AutoIt so I won't do a pull request but adding a WinActivate function after the restore seems to work.
I have a program(exe) to offer some http service, it's ugly to show command prompt window.
I want to hide command prompt window, but it seems MinimizeToTray do not support this?
I'm on Windows 10 version 2004 build 19041.572. I can use the keyboard shortcut to "minimize to tray", which makes the window disappear, but the icon is still visible on the taskbar, which kind of defeats the purpose.
I wanted to let you know that your tool is coming up as malicious for several vendors. Now I presume this is simply due to heuristics related to malicious apps trying to hide themselves and is therefor a false positive. I figured you would want to know and at least make some sort of declaration here or I see it's also on Softpedia.
