How dou you suggest this validation would happen? How the [NAME] and [DATE] fields would be informed to the validator?

if [NAME], etc ... exists then the template is ok.
we also had problems with templates created in word and openoffice. empty spaces were inserted between [ and NAME. Docs that looked good in openoffice didn't look as expected in the pdf. but thats a problem with openoffice.

I have the same problem here with empty spaces. This is really an annoying LibreOffice issue. The solution is erase and write again the part with problem.
