What I expected to happen:
To be able to drop-and-drag a file onto VTU and have it checked for malware

What happened:
Returned an error referring to API key having to be 64 characters.

Replication:
Error returns on provided API key and new key from login to VirusTotal web.

Solution:
Copying API key into text editor and deleting trailing extra (empty) space from end of key, then selecting, copying and pasting key only (no empty space at end) into VTU settings box for API, under "More" from main screen.

When you inspect the .exe's file properties it will list 1.0.0.0 as both file and product version when the actual version is actually 0.0.7 according to Github.

I would advise changing the next release's version uniformly.

Side note: what's up with the folder app.publish? Is the .exe contained there unnecessary? Is it ever called? I only use the one in the main folder, would gladly keep my system nice and tidy, if it's redundant I'd like to remove it.

Webroot labels uploader.exe as [W32.Adware.Gen] and then deletes it. I assume I have to add it to the exception list?

I am using the latest release, v1.0.121.

In the more section, the Open settings file button just opens a new Windows Explorer window at the path This PC.

When I upload a file to VirusTotal, the status bar first shows "Idle" in English instead of the translated word from the custom language.

I have installed by running setup.exe as admin, and after setup, I have configured API key and added the context menu. Then I tried to scan a file in E:\Downloads\ and the exception appeared.

Running from start menu and then use drag-n-drop works fine.

Hi, great app, but one thing that annoys me is the typo in the window title "VirusTotal Uploder", when it should be "VirusTotal Uploader". Just a minor thing. Keep up the good work!

Tried latest version v0.0.7 and it produces an error box:
"Microsoft.CSharp.RuntimeBinder.RuntimeBinderException: Cannot perform runtime binding on null reference at CallSite.Target(Closure, Callsite, Object) it goes on-and-on.

I want it to be possible to upload files that don't have results yet on Virustotal. That's what I thought this program did!

hey. i download anycpu.zip i created shortcut in my sendto folder to easily scan file with virustotal. whenever i send file to the application it only show me Hash values and an option to upload, and the window of app stays after virustotal web page.. please make it simple.

Saw another issue post regarding context menu error, but i would like to post mine with debug message included. The error i hit seems like the folder path is not handled properly where there is a whitespace in the path. Supposingly, the path to my file should be "..\177 Attacked\ASD.cer". Clearly the path used in the program stops at 177.

• Display the current Language in the Settings when opening the window.
  

• When saving, automatically change the language without restarting the program.
  OR create a confirmation window for restarting program to apply the language settings (but only the language so that when entering the API key there is no confirmation).

I get an error with latest version of application. When I try to upload a file, application immediately crashes. Error happens on any file. I have double-checked that I have proper key in settings file.

Exact error is attachment.

Setup

1. Downloaded Release.zip
2. Extract to %LocalAppData%\Programs\VirusTotal Uploader
3. Run VirusTotal Uploader.exe as administrator
4. Open settings, enter API key, save settings.
5. Add to context menu, and then close VirusTotal Uploader
6. Try scanning exe files from context menu

A few exe files can be scanned without error, but I can't figure out what's special about them.
And for those causing the error, drag-n-drop them into the main window does not cause this error.

I added VirusTotal to context menu and when I try to upload already known file to VirusTotal via context menu it uploads from scratch. But if I drop file into main window there is a message about scan results found on VirusTotal.
Please add checking for existing scans when sending file via context menu.

It also would be nice if window is automatically closed after upload. There should be an option for this.

VirusTotal detects this as malicious:

Kind of weird, considering I got here from VirusTotal itself. Probably false positive but needs to be looked at for any security flaws and general public trust aspects. Local Malwarebytes scan didn't find anything.

Each click on the More button opens a new window with Settings.

What I expected to happen:
Uploader would open scan results on VirusTotal website.

What happened:
A scan result page flashes briefly before auto-switching to URL not found.

Replication:
Three repeated attempts produced same result.

I am an ultra newbie to Github. Just discovered this awesome website a few months ago. I'm clueless, right?

Anyway, I notice that there is an Setup.exe in the downloadable assets as well as a folder that is labeled anycpu. After I double-click Setup.exe, do I just delete Setup.exe and the folder anycpu?

I noticed inside the anycpu folder, there was an application called Uploader.exe. Is this the application that I should use every day to check files? Or, do I double-click the shortcut that was created in my start menu?

"Open settings" button has wrong argument:

BTW, just seeing uploader.exe as a running process is a bit generic. as it seems virustotal.com have no interest in supporting a new version. Have you considered changing to a more descriptive EXE name like VTupload.exe or VTotalUpload.exe (yes I do know I can do it manually ) ?

My typical use case is using via "send to" menu + uploader.exe. I appreciate window closes automatically after upload that was a feature the other virustotal2.exe did not have.

In file ErrorWindow.cs line 64, OSInfo must be changed to SystemInfo:

dotnet 4.7 is not supported on older OS versions would this compile under dotnet 4.6. I don't know how to build a dotnet application but willing to try if there is a how 2 guide.

Keep getting this error. Hashing a 2.3GB .zip file seemed to work but I keep getting this when trying to upload.
