Hi,
Newbie here, but this looks like it could be very useful. I'm looking for something that pulls the boundary files from http://geoportal.statistics.gov.uk/
Then exports as topojson files and alters projection wgs 1984
These files can then be improted to PowerBi shapemapper

Would this tool do this? Is there a simple guide?

At the moment the area (in m^2) of polygons must be created manually using QGIS and following these instructions (http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/23355/how-to-calculate-polygon-areas-in-qgis: "This can also be done with Vector|Geometry Tools|Add/export geometry columns, which creates a new shapefile with area and perimeter (or length) columns added".)

It would be nice to figure out how to do this from the command line.

Some of the character encodings of London area are coming out weird in topo/geolytix/PostalArea.json.

This can be seen running 'make topo/geolytix/PostalArea.json; grep SE topo/geolytix/PostalArea.json | more' and looking at the AreaName property.

Possible ogr2ogr flags to look at are:

    # --config SHAPE_ENCODING "UTF-8" \
    # -lco ENCODING=UTF-8 \
    # --config SHAPE_ENCODING "ISO-8859-1" \
