kyoto.nvim's Issues

How to change :wq behaviour?

Currently if you :wq out of a document kyoto will open a empty buffer which you will then have to quit in order to close the nvim instance. I'd like to get rid of this if possible.

Error in `opt`

Hello,

I am trying to install but the final command of install.sh gives me an error.

nvim -c "lua require 'pluginList' require('packer').install()"

E5113: Error while calling lua chunk: /home/andrea/.config/nvim/init.lua:6: attempt to index field 'opt' (a nil value)
Error detected while processing command line:
E5108: Error executing lua ...e/nvim/site/pack/packer/start/packer.nvim/lua/packer.lua:814: /home/andrea/.config/nvim/lua/pluginList.lua:87: bad argument #1 to 'ipairs' (table expected, got nil)
Press ENTER or type command to continue

I was able to recover from this error by changing the vim.opt.nu=true in vim.o.nu=true.

I also changed the line local opt = vim.opt (file options.lua) in the same way but I obtain this error

E5113: Error while calling lua chunk: /home/andrea/.config/nvim/lua/options.lua:20: attempt to call method 'append' (a nil value)

I am using NVIM v0.5.0-dev+1126-g0496b572a.

Thanks for any help!

debugging

Great project, and I love the responsiveness ๐Ÿ‘
Do you have any plans to add debugging capabilities like in LunarVim?

Also, as easy as the installation, I think the ReadMe should outline the installation and troubleshooting steps for new nvim users.

it is not able to find package colors

Settings in kyotorc/init.lua not taking affect

Hi, I've changed the colorscheme away from tokyo night to one that better suits the rest of my setup. I'm trying to remove the BG colors to have it transparent (my terminal is semi transparent).

Running the following works from inside vim

:hi! Normal ctermbg=NONE guibg=NONE

But setting this inside kyotorc/init.lua does not

vim.cmd("hi! Normal ctermbg=NONE guibg=NONE")

I appreciate this isn't an issue related to kyoto itself, but I only have experience with good old vimrc and the grand world of lua based vim is new to me, any help is greatly appreciated.

How do i change the background color.

So i want to change the background color to match my terminal. I have tried to look for the file where the background color is located but i couldn't find it. Any help would be nice.

install.sh fails

Running install.sh fails. Nvim does start with errors but not with errors which are expected:

Error detected while processing command line:
E492: Not an editor command: PackerInstall

The install.sh output:

installing packer
Linking config
old nvim config will be changed to nvim.bak if exists! :0
Nvim Config doesn't exist so creating one
cp: cannot stat 'init.lua': No such file or directory
neovim will open with some errors , just press enter

(notice the cp error)

I'm using Arch linux (btw) with neovim v0.5.0
