Birr Detector 

It can be challenging for a blind person to identify money because they cannot see the 
objects they are using. One of the main challenges for blind people in identifying money
is the lack of sensory (visual) input. This makes it difficult to recognize different coins 
and notes from one another due to their differing sizes and textures. 
Visually impaired people usually identify the denomination of coins and notes using tactile 
features such as size, shape, ridges, and other physical features. 

In addition to the lack of sensory input, blind people may also face difficulties in identifying
money due to the lack of tactile markers on some coins, coins being of similar sizes, and 
the lack of reliable public monetary identification systems.  


To help with these challenges, We develop a mobile application in which utilises a camera
and computer vision algorithms to analyse an image of a banknote to detect its denomination.
The app then provides the blind person with text-to-speech output in order to verbally 
communicate which currency the banknote represents.
