mass-update-and-mass-edit's Issues

Applying to custom objects instructions question

The initial step in the instructions for applying to custom object has you navigate to Setup ➤ Create ➤ Pages

When I go to Setup ➤ Create ➤ there is no Pages option

I have accessed this through Visual Force Pages link instead.

I have Cloned the Mass Edit and Mass Update as specified. When I try to add the fields/columns I want to include I receive and Error: "The element type "apexcolumn" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "/apex:column" at line 35.
When I add it to line 35, the error remains. Here is what I have (my edits start as of line 22 )

I have attached code as an image (for some reason it won't paste correctly into this window.)

I am on Spring '12 and am a self-taught Salesforce Admin for a small company, so if there is something obvious I am missing please clue me in?

Blanking out field values has no effect

A user discovered today that if they select records then use the Mass Edit feature, then highlight a field value and wipe out the field's contents (for one or more records) leaving a blank field, and finally selects the Save button, the blank field value does not save. The result is that the field value remains unaffected when it should have been saved as a blank value. However the record's last modified time/date stamp says the record was updated. Any ideas?

"abc" object

It seems that this package creates an "abc" custom object with no description - it would be helpful if this object was named and described in such as to indicate it was part of and required for this package.

As part of custom object cleanup, we encountered this object, and had to do several rounds with salesforce support before it became clear that this was not our custom object (given the name, we assumed we had built it as a test and abandoned it), but rather required for the mass update/mass edit package.

Mass Edit/Update no longer working in Spring 12 Release

Since the Spring 12 release, the mass edit/update app from force.com labs does not appear to be working. The Mass Edit still works, but Mass Update results in an error.

Steps to recreate (assumes you've installed and configured the Mass Edit/Update buttons for Opportunities:
a. Go to Opportunities tab
b. Retrieve list view results to enable Mass Edit & Update buttons
c. Click/select multiple records and then click “Mass Update”
d. Click Next on Step 1 of 5 to progress to the next page
e. Error results immediately on a blank page:
