ux330ua-macos's Issues

ASUS UX330UA-AH55

Hello, is this the same process for the 8th Generation Coffee Lake ZenBook?

Can’t get past first boot

After using KextBeast to install Kexts into /L/E, macOS refuses to boot. (Tried both with and without bootflag -f). Sometimes macOS boots up behind the apple logo.

Can you help me with this?
Thanks!

[QUESTION] Catalina / Mojave 1st Reboot On Installed System Graphcal Issues

Hey! Not my first rodeo with the hackintosh game but having an issue. Whether or not I use Mojave or Catalina -- I'll get the unit to boot into the install screen about 1/10 boots, but will get something along the lines of: SCREEN the other 9 boots land me on the initial install screen in a similar fashion as the screenshot above. nothing is responsive to clicks or typing but I can move the mouse. Have used both USB Keyboard and mouse too. No go. Now, I've done enough reboots to be able to install both Catalina and Mojave once each, (installer hangs on the black screen with little white Apple and 1 minute remaining.... -- I wait about 30 minutes then force reboot and it's installed apparently.) It'll let me go through initial set up SOMETIMES (9/10 times I get EXACTLY what you see in the screenshot above.) And only twice I've made it all the way to the desktop after the first install. I have gotten some post-install things installed but perhaps not the actual bootloader and such. When I go to do a reboot via the USB (in verbose or regular) I get a log in screen that is faint with a white apple and black loading screen overlayed on top. Again can move mouse but cant click. I've tried the trick of pressing the key of the first letter of my username and typing my password and I'll see it be entered, and I'll hit enter but the screen freezes with a movable cursor. Sounds like and feels like some sort of graphical issue to me but im not sure. Please let me know what you think. I've used your EFI folder directly on my USB and I've tried the other guide you've linked and yours is what gets me installed. I have this graphical error with both though. Thanks.

Specs: i5-7200U Kaby, 8GB DDR3 RAM -- match yours. BIOS were same version as yours too. Thanks.

Model: UX330UA-AH54

Thank you for all the help!

Try the files from your repo but it does not work on UX390UAK

Hi, Rybo. I found that the hardware of UX390UAK is similar to UX330UAK, but there's no Hackintosh examples or experience for UX390UAK. Then I use the files from your repo to give a try, the installation was successful, however, my audio and microphone do not work, also, it can not wake up from sleeping. I checked that there does exist /var/vm/sleepimage file. Could you help me with this? Thanks!

[QUESTION]

I installed hackintosh on asus UX550VD, I managed to run everything except sleep and SD Card Reader.
Please tell me how you managed to run SD Card Reader ?

Bios 315 downgrade to 315[QUESTION]

Hi there,

Thanks for providing this guide. However, can you detail how to downgrade the BIOS of these machines? Or, does Bios 315 work.

Thanks!

Upgrading from High Sierra

Hi. I used @hieplpvip 's guide and kexts to install High Sierra on my ASUS UX330UA-AH55. Unfortunately, his guide and kexts didn't work to install Mojave. I kept getting a

kextd stall[0]: (240s), AppleACPICPU

error when trying to install Mojave. See issue I posted on his repo.

I recently came across this repo. I replaced the kexts and efis in my EFI/Clover with the those in your Clover folder, and then used KextBeast to install the recommended kexts in L/E. I then downloaded Mojave and tried to update from High Sierra install using it, but I once again ran into the kextd stall. Can you give me any advice/help on upgrading to Mojave? Should I try to do a clean install using your files?

Backport changes to ASUS-ZENBOOK-HACKINTOSH

Hi @Rybo713. I'm the author of ASUS-ZENBOOK-HACKINTOSH.

Do you have to change anything to get my build working on your laptop? If yes, could you please tell me what changes you have made?

Would be great if I can backport those changes to ASUS-ZENBOOK-HACKINTOSH

Clover doesn’t see the installer partition

When booting into clover, it shows:
BlockSize: 512LegacyApfsContainerScan: Block device not supportedSuccess
And proceeds to only detect Windows. The installer doesn’t show up.
Am I missing something?
Thanks!

Edit: I have a UX330-UAR if that makes much of a difference

Edit 2: Had forgotten HFSPlus.efi in drivers64UEFI. Now clover sees the partition, but doesn’t get to the installer. Shows only a grey screen

Edit 3: Fixed issues I was having before, now have trouble getting macOS to boot past the first boot. However, I am now closing this issue.
