What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Loading Pikmin PAL with nintendont v1.69 or lower. (Game freezes immediatley
since v1.70)
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Since all dsp versions are implemented I would expect either working audio or
no audio in the game's menu.
What I hear instead is garbled audio in the game's menu
What revision of Nintendont are you using? On what system Wii/Wii U?
I used v1.69, cause the game freezes immediatly since v1.70. But even on newer
versions, you can hear the garbled audio when the nintendo logo appears, right
before the game freezes.
Please provide any additional information below.
I verified my iso at redump.org. It's a clean dump. I applied crediar's dspscan
tool to the iso and got no return message (not even a error or something, just
no return message at all). I checked my ndebug.log and it says that Pikmin PAL
has dsp Unknown.
All this information matches with the compatibility list, so I'm not the only
one experiencing this issue.
Interestingly the NTSC version of Pikmin has dsp v10 (according to the
compatibility list), which is kinda odd, because I would expect the dsp version
to be independent from the games region.
Here's a video made. Unfortunatly the sound is not the best, but you can
clearly hear the garbled sound at the nintendo logo and main screen.
You can also see that the sound is only garbled in the menu and not in the game
itself.

So after one of the more recent updates, the controller responds in game which
is great. The only issue is that for some reason while playing in game, the
game thinks that the D-pad is the A button. Any direction you push is like
pushing the A button. The buttons mapped to A, B, X and Y do not work at all.
L, R and Start works, as far as I can tell.
What version of the product are you using?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. create a controller.ini for the adapter/controller using HIDtest
2. test the created controller.ini in HIDtest or play a game
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I want all buttons to work properly.
Instead pressing LEFT on the SNES' DPad acts is if I'd push in all directions
simultaneously.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
nintendont r86 on vWii (Wii U)
Please provide any additional information below.
The SNES controller uses offsets 0 and 1 for the DPad. If nothing is pressed,
they're both 08. If you press LEFT or UP, offsets 0 or 1 change to 00. If you
press RIGHT or DOWN, offsets 0 or 1 change to FF.
Because of this, I put the following lines in my controller.ini:
Left=0,00
Down=1,FF
Right=0,FF
Up=1,00
All directions work just fine, only LEFT is making problems. Even combining
directions (UP+RIGHT, DOWN+RIGHT) works. But pressing LEFT (thus setting the
0,00) makes nintendont act as if all directions were pressed.
The full controller.ini is attached.
The adapter has been ordered here (remove the link if inappropriate):

4. Use the shut-down controller command (R+Z+B+D-PadDown) any point in the game.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When Nintendont is started by the Homebrew channel, using the shut-down
controller command will cause it to return to homebrew channel. I would expect
it to either go to HBC or the loader, but instead it freezes and hangs. Nothing
else happens, and I need to shut it down manually.

What revision of Nintendont are you using? On what system Wii/Wii U?
v1.83 on Wii
Please provide any additional information below.
This issue only happens during the intro. After you've reached the main menu
the screen is back to normal. As you can see in the video, the screen even
flickers after pressing the reset combo, normally it should freeze. This
indicates that this issue is not an issue with the game itself, but a issue
with video signal. It's is the only game, I'm experiencing this issues, so
probably the problem isn't on my end. I haven't tested this on the english PAL
version and on the NTSC version (cause I don't own them), but according to the
compatibility list, this problem only accurs on the PAL version.
I also tested all video modes (Auto, NTSC, MPAL, PAL50, PAL60, None) and none
of them worked
Video (1) of the issue:
As you can see, everything is back to normal, after reaching the menu:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQQXVc4gO54&feature=youtu.be
Video (2) of the issue:
As you can see the flickering remains after pressing the reset combo. Normally
the screen should freeze. So it is a video signal issue.

Can we PLEASE have a "force 4:3 aspect ratio" option?
There is a "force widescreen" option, but what is really needed is the reverse,
as most GC games are of older 4:3 ratio and at lease for me, nintendont

Wii U
Please provide any additional information below.
There is no way to check if this problem also exists in the US version of the
game as it is impossible to resist torture in that version due to a different
bug, which is required to get the said cutscene.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start nintendont from the boot.dol on a sd card and launch any game.
2. Use an external HDD or flash drive for loading(tested with all of my drives).
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected:
The game should start after displaying launching main.dol and should create the
debug file I would attach to this post...
Instead:
When launching any game(tested with all of my games) the Wii U simply shows a
black screen after the text loading main.dol and refreshing the video output
and has to be plugged from the power supply to shut down.
What revision of Nintendont are you using? On what system Wii/Wii U?
R99 on vWii of Wii U(PAL).
Latest Wii U firware, cIOS installed.
Please provide any additional information below.
1. Strangely enough this error occured around r84, but couldn't be solved by
going back to the most stable revision(r80).
2. I formatted each drive with the recommended 32k cluster size, but couldn't
get any game to work.
3. This error doesn't occur when loading from a sd card, but lags (with some
hilarious game glitches).
4. Even when placing the ansi.bin file on the hdd, it doesn't work.
5. Maybe this is due to some damaged ioses of the vWii, but probably not
because usb loaders for wii games work flawless(also when using fat32 drives).
6. I also tried any GC format from raw to extracted, but it didn't help
anything.
7. I use a cheap Chinese PS2 to PC adapter that works with the controller.ini
of the ps2 controller, it used to work with former revisions so that can't be
the reason for freezing.
8. When trying the exact same hdd and controller on a Wii it works.
9. There are no reads of the external hdd when the display resets after loading
main.dol.
(10. When launching a game, the Wii U game in the wii u disk drive starts
spinning)

In MGS Psycho Mantis has some unique abilities which currently may not be
replicated using Nintendon't.
On the Game Cube he psychicly knows which games you've been playing by reading
the contents of the memory card. Nintendon't creates a separate memcard file
for each game and thus the only game he will see is MGS.
I suggest a feature where a list of game titles is cached at startup when MGS
is detected, that can be presented when the memorycard scan takes place in MGS.
I don't know the feasibility of this, it's just a suggestion of how to handle
it if possible.
