Lost in play Ultrawide fix contains trojan?

Hello. Your fix works well, small glitches often slip through, but it doesn't matter. Thank you for this. But my antivirus swears at the contents of your fix archive and says that it contains "Caypnamer.A!ml". Could you comment on this somehow?

Outer Worlds SCE fix doesn't seem to work on Steam w/ Proton

Hello, I've extracted the archive (minus the the readme file) to Steam/steamapps/common/The Outer Worlds Spacer's Choice/Indiana/Binaries/Win64/, here's what it looks like:

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work in-game, I still have pillarboxes during dialogues and such.

  • I have set the option to Windowed fullscreen.
  • I've tried both the 1.0 and 1.0.1 releases.
  • I've tried Proton versions 8 and experimental.

Linux version of fix for Disney Dreamlight Valley via Proton

Hello! I'm running on linux and came across this fix for ultrawide support. Unfortunately there isn't a way to run the fix via proton as it's all contained in an exe. Are there any manual instructions? Or potentially a way to compile it for linux as well?

macOS patches? (Tunic)

I am using the Steam version of Tunic on macOS, but sadly the patcher only works on the Windows version of the game.

Attempting to run it on "GameAssembly.dylib" (by having it renamed to .dll) sadly cannot patch anything (as I'd expect), as shown below

I do not mind the Windows patcher, Wine works and there's no need to bother with a macOS one. However, could you provide manual patching instructions (e.g. byte patterns to find/replace), or maybe simply patch GameAssembly.dylib?

Thank you for your amazing work, and I'd understand if you only wish to support Windows at the moment.

Death Stranding Director's Cut patcher not working under wine

Hello! First off, thank you so much for everything that you've done to make these games more accessible for those of us who have ultrawide displays. I truly appreciate it! Onto my question;


With the original version of Death Stranding I was able to use your patcher even though I play the game under Linux. I would launch the game through Steam, then separately launch the patcher within the same wine prefix, and it would work as expected.

However, with the Director's Cut edition I'm somehow not able to get it to work. Do you happen to know if something changed in the way you have implemented the hook/listener for the function keys?

It would be really nice if there was a way to get it to work again. I purchased the Director's Cut version mostly to support the developer and I was hopeful it would just come with 32:9 support out of the box, but that ended up not being the case, and unfortunately I have thus far not been able to get your patcher to work again too, so I've not been able to play again.

Anyway, I know you officially support only Windows, but for those of us who do not use this and do have an ultrawide, it would be really nice if whatever changed between the original and DC versions could be adjusted so that us Linux folk could play the game in all its ultrawide goodness again. Either way, thanks so much!

[Bug] Permanent LB/TAB in top left corner (Tunic)

Hi,

thank you very much for this patcher! Is there any way to get rid of the permanent display of the x'ed LB button / TAB key in the top left corner? This only occurs when using this patch and widescreen resolutions. The issue is that it covers up the location popup :(

Ultrawide fix for Robocop possible?

The usual tweaks like in the ini sadly don't work and as usual if not correctly implemented in Unreal Engine the game is cropped on top and bottom when setting to an aspect ratio of 21:9 or wider.

Source code?

Kinda weird having this here on github and not including source code. Also when you download source on the release it’s just the readme files… am I missing something here?

Graphic glitches and crashes (The Quarry)

I get graphic glitches (TV noise, one colored screen) and the game crashes usually when these glitches occur.

Edit: Missed the new v1.1! I will report back if the game runs without issues.

Far Cry 5 won't launch with FOV fix installed

Hey, thank you for awesome job you're doing for ultrawide users!

I'm having trouble with Far Cry 5 and FOV fix https://github.com/RoseTheFlower/UltrawideIndex/releases/tag/farcry5 installed. If I try to launch the game (doesn't matter if it's from Ubisoft app or directly executable for the game), it will be stuck at splash screen with cursor indicating that something is loading. If I go to task manager, FarCry5.exe is there but state is constantly flashing between nothing and "paused". If I delete either of the both files (FarCry5FOV.asi or version.dll), it launches without a problem.

Steps already made on my side:

  1. restarted Ubisoft app
  2. verified game files (all is ok)
  3. tried running FC5 as admin

Only deleting fix works, however there is a FOV slider in the game and its maxed at 104, so I guess I'll be fine for 21:9 ratio.

Tunic not working

Is it just me or it's not working since the new patch? Or the instructions are really unclear.

Unfortunately playing on 3840x1600, there are thick black bars on top and bottom. Is there something I can do to fix this?

Title screen video being downscaled... (Starfield)

[Starfield] Hopefully this is in scope and something you could look at. I use a 3440x1440 screen and notice that videos on the title screen are being scaled down by 50%. This applies to the main game video, but I also tried replacing this with my own custom 3440x1440 bink video and while it plays, it is also scaled down 50%.

It would be great if this modification could correct this. Editing the .EXE with a hex editor to replace 16:9 refs with 3440x1440 does fix the video downscaling, however it completely breaks the rest of the UI.

F9 is doing nothing for me, Will not activate

I cannot for the life of me get this to work, never had an issue with your other hacks so not sure why this one refuses to do anything when hitting F9. Monitor is 32x9, I start The Quarry through steam then alt tab out and launch the hack. I go back to the game and pressing F9 does nothing. What am I doing wrong here? There is another hack floating around where you start a program that launches the game and while that does give me 32x9 and removes all borders it's buggy and crashes during path selection scenes, which I read yours does not have this issue. Any idea why the program is either not working or F9 is not just working as a shortcut key?

Batman Arkham Knight - No mission markers and Riddler Trial falling out of bounds

Hi there, I have been using the cutscene fov fix on 3440x1440 and noticed a persistent issue where the top compass does not show a waypoint for any selected missions which makes navigation difficult for later missions. I have also found that I cannot progress in the first Riddler Trial after entering into it with the batmobile because the level fails to load as the elevator descends and I fall out of bounds once the character reaches the bottom.

Only other mod I have installed is the Arkham Knight community patch but after uninstalling that I can confirm these problems only occur with the ultrawide fix installed even after verifying integrity of game files in Steam. I appreciate any and all help with this!

The Expanse - Cropped View

It seems like the last two episodes the view is cropped to fit the screen. i.e., both the very bottom and the very top are cut off.

SCORN - FOV changes to really wide one when zooming with a weapon equipped

First time character acquires a weapon in the game (~30-40mins in) the fov breaks when looking down sight with or RMB. it chnges to really wide one.
it's happening even without this fix so it's the game itself.
any possibility to address it with this fix update?

Dreamlight Valley strange inventory behavior

Hey,

after some time the inventory in dreamlight valley is a little strange. When clicking with right mousebutton in on an inventory slot , another is triggered. When launching the game and applying the godsent widescreen fix, everything is good and the game is running smooth and correctly. this problem occurs after a while. Any chance this could be fixed ? i even dont know how and why this happens.

Happens both with 1.0 and 1.1 versions.

I would not do that turning Off Microsoft Defender SmartScreen it defeats the whole point in a virus scanner or protection from virus even if its falsely flagged, unless I am using like ubuntu or arch based Linux, which I used before, using wine I feel more safe about launching falsely detected stuff, I had a virus on Window 98 or Win95 in the past, where I of course had to do a clean install of windows in the past on an older pc, I try to be careful about what I download and install on my current pc.

anyway, I don't have a 21:9 monitor yet, I plan on upgrading my computers monitor to either a 4k monitor or 5k monitor so I was looking into this stuff for the quarry pc game if that's even needed with it, I think the 5k monitors is like
32:9 aspect ratio for the Samsung - CRG9 Series Odyssey 49" LED Curved Dual QHD Free Sync and G-Sync Gaming Monitor , but my birthday is still a few months off, so I don't know yet, if I get one of these or a 4k monitor I am not sure which is going to be better for the pc or gaming systems yet, for video game playing, my current tv set can only do 1080p on 55" size. anyway I just doing early research in what would be needed for that type of monitor I guess if I get one of them for my nvidia gtx 2080 card, if it can handle a 5k monitor I am not sure. Anyway thanks for reply back.

Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition Ultrawide patch not working.

I am running the game on Epic. I've dropped the files into the Win64 folder, but am still seeing black bars during dialogs. Haven't played so far into the game, but I think that's an indicator that things are not working properly. There was a recent update for the Spacer's choice Edition, so it's possible that broke the patch. Either that, or it's just not working on the Epic version of the game. Any suggestions? Thanks for your work!

Halls of torment text alignment when opening chests

Hello. If it isn't too much of a hassle, could somebody that knows this programming language please take a look to see whether the text alignment for 32:9 when picking up items is an easy fix? The text box is huge when in inventory screen, covering most of the screen

And, unfortunately, also huge when picking up a chest. However the text box is shifted way to the right on mouseover which usually means you don't even see a word of it.

The ultrawide hack was working until now, but apparently today a new update has been pushed on the MS Store, being unable to patch the second file (globalgamemanagers) writing 0 bytes.
Could you please make a new release?

Death Stranding DC (Epic) download: Program:Win32/Uwamson.A!ml - Microsoft Defender removal

Every time I download the Director's Cut (Epic) version I get this from Microsoft Defender and it gets removed (Program:Win32/Uwamson.A!ml) not even sure I wanna allow it. Even though false positives have been an issue before, I just don't trust much when something like this is detected. Also, the non-DC version I have used before I upgraded the game there was nothing like this 🤔 anyone else??

Weapon Laser Scope Misaligned (Starfield)

Hey, I just found out about your mod, thanks for helping the community, to give some context I was using the INI modifications to remove the pillarboxes for 32:9 and fix the map markers (fWideAspectLimit=3.55556) / bPhotoModeLetterBoxed=0), to increase the FOV (fFPWorldFOV=100.0000 / fTPWorldFOV=100.0000), to limit the UI safezone (fSafeZoneXWide=960), but didn't found any INI command to help with the weapon model being too close, to help with that I found a CheatEngine corretion to have different FOV value just for the weapon, so the FP and TP was set at 100 in the INI and the weapon at 140 with the CE method. (Starfield 21:9 Viewmodel/Weapon FOV Fix on Reddit, don't know if I can post links here).

Your solution seems to give almost the same result as the INI + CE, the only differences/bugs I found so far are with the laser scope pointer weapons, where the laser itself seems to be stuck on the original place the weapon was when I play the game without the CE correction and the items images in the menus are squished, here are some screenshots, hope that they can help, thanks again for you work on this fix.

Add Button to start the Game

This would be wonderful for us Steam Deck guys.

We can use the Steam Launch Arguments to launch a diffrent .exe in the Game Folder. That can be used to start the Fix. But starting the game afterwards is a bit tricky.

So, a Button to start the Game inside the fix would solve all our Problems.
