I have a simple map proof of concept and when I start up the app, there are times when it will position the map in the middle of the ocean as opposed to specified location near Malibu, CA.

I have a subtle issue with map zooming in a prototype that's in this [repo]. This particular prototype synchronizes map zoom between zoom buttons, a slider, and the mouse wheel. The issue is when I use mouse wheel to zoom the result is map will zoom and then shift (in the video it's a small shift but on other computers it can be a significant shift).

I’m using the Viewpoint Changed event to set the map scale. Any thoughts?

Can someone please help me figure out attaching a log value to zoom slider on the map. I found a thread on StackOverflow that seems like what I need but having hard time understanding it.

I think what the log value will do is focus on the most used part of the map (for example, ArcGIS max map scale value is from 0.0001 to around 193 million. I'd like the slider thumb to be at the 50% mark when map scale is at 50 thousand)
