rocket.chat.reactnative's Issues

Rooms opening twice

When you double click on a room name, it opens the same room twice (like popups). Leaving the room also requires the back button to be tapped twice in this case.

Is it ready for production?

Hi guys,
Thanks for all of this work.
What is the state of this project? Is it ready for production? I can't find any information about this in README.md

I found this repo accidentally (please pin it to organization for others)

Is the project grown enough so that we rebuild our client R.C-based app using the React Native project?

Hi everyone,

We are considering rewriting our client application (which is a fork from Rocket.Chat) to React Native based on this project.
Knowing that the backend of the RC Meteor app is wired to the rest of our platform with extra customizations to the chat use cases (groups/channels linked to projects and teams, directing to our video call app – similar ton Appear, …etc.), do you think that investing in a RN rewrite is a good bet?

Based on the current status of the project, do you think this is also viable in terms of schedule? (we saw this topic: #43)

Better code structure

There are some options to improve the code structure:

  • Read the Building Chatty to get ideas
  • Add redux
  • Rename file meteor.js to RocketChat to encapsulate the API to populate realm
  • Separate views to standalone files
  • Integrate Storybook to be able to test state of components

Add components to Storybook

We should be adding all new components to storybook so we can keep track of styles and different states, using it as a styleguide and a testing platform.

Some fixes

  • cancel edit message

  • typing(false) on send message

  • message action trigger (hold) is a little weird

  • better strings on actions

[NEW] KaTeX Support

Rocket.Chat supports posting KaTeX, which will get rendered nicely in the conversation. For us, this is an outstanding feature.

Unfortunately, when posting KaTeX in the native app (e.g. $x$ or \[x\]), it is not rendered as KaTeX but stays as it is.
