woppack's Issues

Clarify license

As with most World of Padman things the license of the files is unclear.

It might be sufficient to ask [email protected] to re-license, as he appears to be the orignal author/maintainer.
Parts of e.g. entities.def might have been taken from Quake 3, with unclear license as well (and that's the only file with enough content to cross the threshold of originality).

The license should be compatible (e.g. for default inclusion in NetRadiant) with GPL (v2+), but could be BSD/MIT or even CC0 as well.

Fix custinfoparms

World of Padman uses special surface flags (carpetsteps, latticesteps etc.).
This requires either a game definition (e.g. game_wop.h) for q3map2 or using the -custinfoparms switch (see default_build_menu.xml). If using the switch, q3map2 parses a scripts/custinfoparms.txt from the configured VFS.

For some reason a default installation of World of Padman does not include custinfoparms.txt, and therefor it was added to WoPPack in 3a66043 and 469d0df.

The best fix would most likely be the inclusion of custinfoparms.txt in the default World of Padman installation (pinging upstream @worldofpadman), which in turn would require a new (patch) release, which is unlikely.

Add WoPPack to upstream NetRadiant

Once it is somewhat stable, WoPPack should be included in NetRadiant, so people can get it with the regular distributions of NetRadiant (instead of being bundled with World of Padman).

This would just require adding a line like the following to NetRadiant's download-gamepacks.sh:

+pack WoPPack proprietary git https://github.com/robo9k/WoPPack.git

Add bspcwop

World of Padman requires the use of a modified bspc (for the "Spray your Color" gametype) to compile .aas files for the bots from compiled .bsp .map files.

While the original "WoP radiant files" include a Windows build of bspcwop.exe, this mapping pack should either include or reference binaries for all platforms (Mac, Linux and Windows) as well as its sourcode.
