If the EEPROM has never been used before, the first byte will contain FF. The firmware tries to load 255 frames and crashes on startup, so you can't write any new animations to it.

I am getting this error when I load up firmware.pde and try to validate it or send it to the rainbowduino.

The brightness is related to the draw method in Rainbowduino.cpp line 74, change this value to 32 for full brightness changes the color. White is suddenly red.

I think this is due wrongly adjusted timer method. it would be better to introduce gammar values as the original seeedstudio sketch does as well..

for some reasons the standalone app for Mac OS X doesn't connect to rainbowduino although using same code with Processing IDE works. not sure abt Win & linux, pls confirm..

I'm helping someone on an arduino project. Today he was telling me about another project he wants to explore: rainbowduino. He had downloaded mtXcontrol, but when launching it nothing much seemed to happen. His machine is a G4 based Mac. Seems that Java 1.6 does not run on G4 macs, and therefore he has Java 1.5 loaded. Was wondering whether there are any issues running mtXcontrol on G4 macs or Java 1.5.

When saving more than 8 Frames to Matrix, 8th and following frames are broken.

Somehow bits are missing/flipping on its way!?

Maybe related due to buffer problems?? Increasing transmission delay didn't solve the problem..
