grayscale-mode's Issues

"disable grayscale mode for selected apps" is system-wide, not for selected apps

If I check "disable grayscale mode for Finder", it doesn't mean that it's just disabled for Finder. What ends up happening is that I can't enable grayscale mode if Finder is activated. Even if many other apps are also shown on the screen, they don't become grayscale. So in reality, it's not "disable grayscale mode for selected apps", the better definition would be "disable grayscale mode system-wide when selected apps are activated".

Could we get a feature that would match "disable grayscale mode for Finder"? If Finder, Safari, and Notes are shown on the screen, and I have checked "disable grayscale mode for Finder", it means that Safari and Notes would be gray scale, while Finder would remain in colors.

Feature: Grayscale percentage

It would be nice if the grayscale could be, let's say only 50% of the capacity. This would reduce strain on the eyes, since some whites are too white when activating grayscale.

Dark mode icon

Hi, I saw this app on Reddit and I really liked it. Thank you for building it!

The icon in the menubar seems a little bit weird when I am using my laptop on dark mode:

I can't see the left half of the icon and it is annoying. I think it would be nice to have a different icon for the dark mode. I don't have enough knowledge about macOS app development to actually implement this and make a PR. That being said, you can try implementing something like this for the dark mode:

Some apps disable greyscale

Great app, sorely missed. However, I notice some things turn off the grayscale effect, such as either closing or opening the app LaunchControl.app

Anybody else experienced this? What's causing it and what's a fix? Thanks!

Update: Also happens with Telegram, I'll keep updating as I try and figure out what's going on here.

Also, after the app closes or opens, the first time I do the keyboard shortcut it doesn't work, I have to do it twice ๐Ÿค”

Doesn't work on macs with M1 chip

I have Macbook Air 2020 with M1 and this app simply doesn't work. It doesn't matter if I click on enable or use the provided keybinding.

Feature: Add scheduling

Would be cool if there was an option to set a certain time at which grayscale would be activated. For example I would set one for the evening.
