This way if we want to remove a strike for whatever reason (e.g. un banning a user), we can still keep the strike for historical data.

So right now the check_in method of the Checkouts controller using active_checkouts to figure out which checkout to check back in. This isn't going to work if 2 user can checkout the same book if we have multiple copies. Quick fix by adding patron pin but i will forget if i don't make an issue.

Since I think we've all agreed that making the web app more patron oriented and having the windows 8 app be used on the surface, we need to discuss which views should be removed from the web app.

Just for reference, the windows 8 app performs check outs, check ins, adding books, and viewing books.

Because of this, I think we should remove:

• books#new
• checkouts#new
• checkouts#check_in (Only GET. We still need POST)

I think that's all that needs to be removed. Any other views I'm missing? Or any disagreement with the views that I suggested?

How do read? Is book a word document? Is words good for brain?

A lot of our runtime dependencies are out of date. Preferably we could also update our development dependencies if it isn't too difficult.

We haven't done this yet. We should do this.
