shittydb's Issues

Inefficiency in Java implementation

I notice the Java implementation of the set method uses a finally block to ensure the file object is always closed. So in effect we are opening and closing a file for every single call to the set function. I imagine closing the file and taking the data out to disk takes a long time. Is it possible that we can leave out the call to the close() method for increased webscalability? (Note that this is Java so the garbage collector will pick up the file and close it later.)

Not shitty enough!

When I first saw the project title, I felt elated! I thought I had finally found a DB that dares to go beyond boring CRUD operations and performs actual shitty things. My expectations were set very high. I was expecting it to do things like:

  • Delete random system files
  • Shut down my laptop randomly
  • Consume full CPU and RAM for no reason
  • Summon Cthulhu to obliterate the known universe

But the current version doesn't do any of this :( Maybe you should consider renaming it to something like "not-so-shitty-db" or add the requested features?
