Wrong install location for Steam about dayz-launcher HOT 5 CLOSED

You're welcome, I just made it because it's what I wanted and I knew I
could.

That's where it needs to be as the mod needs combined ops which is launched
by the oa executable.

Did you get any errors? I don't have the Steam version but do have 2
testers that are using it ok.

I installed your application by running setup.exe, then I loaded Steam and went to launch Operation Arrowhead, choosing "Launch ARMA 2 Combined Ops" option.

It errored on launch, saying "Addon dayz_code requires missing addon cabuildingparts". It also errored once in the game, about a missing file.

I moved the @DayZ folder from the OA root into the arma2 root and it launches, however it won't join a multiplayer game, as it complains about downloaded files having been deleted (chenarus, dayz_this, dayz_that).

I realise this thing's alpha but it really shouldn't be this tricky to get working! Any ideas?

You need to put the mod files back and Always use the launcher, not your
steam shortcuts. It adds all the required stuff to the command line.

You can add the launcher to steam and get the overlay.

Just for reference, the issue still occurs when launching with the desktop shortcut, or when launching with Steam.

The issue is that I had never started the base game, ARMA 2! It must create some files on first launch or something like that, since when I started the game and quit out of it, then used your shortcut, it worked fine.

Having played a non-Steam version of ARMA 2 a long time ago when it came out, I didn't really have any desire to play the original when I picked up Combined Ops (because I had been playing OA) so the idea of starting the base game never occurred to me.

Anyway, I'll close this now as it's a problem with the lack of install instructions, not your launcher!
