Setting up and managing the env vars that docker needs to run seems to be the biggest stumbling block that most people seem to hit when setting up docker on non-linux platforms.

We should elaborate on the process and give detailed instructions of how it works/what's happening when the user runs $(boot2docker shellinit) along with any common pitfalls (persisting to your.bashrc or .zshrc for example)
