This fall, I'll be driving the entirety of the Lincoln Highway, the "Main Street across America". I've been wanting to do this since I was in college nearly 25 years ago. Now that I've finished grad school, I plan on a great adventure. This website will document that journey.
This repository will house the source for that website. I'll be using 11ty to build a static site, and create my own templates and theme. More info available in this repository when the code is complete.

Each blog post will have "previous" and "next" links at the bottom of the page.
This will be the base layout for the site. Other layouts will extend from this one.
Styles for theme color, and page layout.
This page includes a featured image, title, date, placeholders for category and tags, the main body copy.
On a blog page, use the Image plugin to pull in the Flickr photo, for in-post illustration. The photo then links directly to that photo on the Flickr website.
Original plan was Foursquare reviews, but other integrations to research include Yelp and Tripadvisor. Happy Cow is specific for food and may also be an option.
All pages except the homepage will have a sidebar: About, social media links, latest posts, category list, tag cloud.
Include skeleton regions for each section: hero, latest posts, and map.
The links do have screen-reader text available, but instead, remove the visibly hidden text, and add that to aria-label instead.
This page will display only posts from the specified category, in chronological order.
Plain content, for use on pages like About, Contact, etc.
This is the main site nav, in the global header.
Include only Twitter and Instagram for now.
Extend the skeleton for the latest posts to actually include the latest post, with one featured post, and listed in reverse chronological order.
This will be the basic skeleton for the website. Include directories for source and site. Minimal packages, with Sass build script, but no actual styles needed yet.
Photos is another main section of the site. The Photos page will include the galleries/albums from Flickr. Each photo will link to the photo on the Flickr website.
This page will display only posts from the specified tag, in chronological order.
Add email, social links, and copyright.
This page will display all blog posts in reverse chronological order.
