points-in-polygon's Introduction

points-in-polygon

A node.js library helping you to process all rasterized points in any 2D polygon.

How does it work?

  • Triangulation is done via earcut
  • Points in the resulting triangles are determined using co-project points-in-triangle
  • All points in the polygon are iterated and passed to the callback.

What is it for?

  • Rendering: Draw any given polygon!
  • GIS: Create height maps of 2D shape files!

How to install

Install it into your project with

npm install --save points-in-polygon

How to use it

const pointsInPolygon = require('points-in-polygon');

// Format: [[[outerX,outerY],...],[[innerX,innerY],...],[[innerX,innerY],...]]
let polygon = [
  // first element is defining the outer area of the polygon
  [[0, 0], [10, 0], [10, 10], [0, 10]],
  // following elements will define the inner cut out areas
  [[3, 3], [6, 3], [6, 6], [3, 6]],
  ...
];
// triangulate, rasterize and calculate points inside the polygon
pointsInPolygon(polygon, (x, y) => console.log(x, y));

points-in-polygon's Issues

Action required: Greenkeeper could not be activated 🚨

🚨 You need to enable Continuous Integration on Greenkeeper branches of this repository. 🚨

To enable Greenkeeper, you need to make sure that a commit status is reported on all branches. This is required by Greenkeeper because it uses your CI build statuses to figure out when to notify you about breaking changes.

Since we didn’t receive a CI status on the greenkeeper/initial branch, it’s possible that you don’t have CI set up yet.
We recommend using:

If you have already set up a CI for this repository, you might need to check how it’s configured. Make sure it is set to run on all new branches. If you don’t want it to run on absolutely every branch, you can whitelist branches starting with greenkeeper/.

Once you have installed and configured CI on this repository correctly, you’ll need to re-trigger Greenkeeper’s initial pull request. To do this, please click the 'fix repo' button on account.greenkeeper.io.
