Stack Trace Formatter

A simple extension to quickly format any C# and Java stack trace.

Instructions

  • Format an exception by pasting the text in a plaintext file, then opening up the command palette (default: Ctrl+Shift+P), and running the Format Stack Trace command.

Feature request: I want to select text and format it

I have a json object:

{
timestamp: '..',
metadata: {
error: {
    stack : '<<node.js stack here >>'
}
stack : '<<node.js stack here >>' 
}

As an engineer who is often works with json logs
I want to select a string: metadata.error.stack and format it
So I don't need to copy stack to a new file and format the whole file

btw, if I have 2 stack, like in example above calling formatter will merge all lines and return weird result
