It's very annoying that I have to load a dictionary each time starting Sailbabel. Also I use only one dictionary. It would be nice if I could define a default dictionary that would be automatically loaded at startup.

I find inconvenient to load the dictionary every time the application starts, in particular with large dictionaries the loading time is too long.

I have written some code to save the dictionary in a SQL database, if you are interested I can create a pull request.

I think the only reason to tap the clear text button in the search field is to enter a new search string. So the focus can be set to the search entry automatically. Right now I have to tap into the search field by hand after hitting clear text button.
