libretro-atari800's Issues

Constant low hum around 95hz - Not present in standalone Atari800

I've noticed that the Atari800 core has this strange constant humming sound that isn't present in standalone Atari800. I recorded it and put it under a parametric EQ and it seems to be centered between 90 and 100hz. I tried correcting this with the EQ DSP, but could only reduce it somewhat, not eliminate it.

Screen washed out

I installed libretro Atari 800 on my retro pie. Managed to get Star Raiders to load, but the star background, instead of being black, is gray. I’ve seen the same effect on other Atari eight bit games running under libretro atari800. Fiddling with the video settings seems to have no effect.

Atari800 core - Retroarch crash upon content download.

Any time I try to load any atari 5200 or 800/XL/XE game RetroArch crashes on Android. I've tried to run on several different Android devices running various flavor of Android with the same result.
I know that Ihave good BIOS set and game filse as I use same collection with my Rasp-Pi as well as on 86 Linux and Windows 10 version of RetroArch.
I've tried on the RetroArch/Libretro forums and have found somene who have mentioned that Atari800 core uses some sys call that was some time ago blocked by Android. Is this core functional on the Android?
Other question is, do I have to manually provide Atari bios file location in the atari800.cfg? If so, then what is default location of the atari800.cfg on Android?

New Libretro Atari 800 core (lr-atari800): Compiling from source

Hi there,

yesterday I compiled the new version and noticed a strange behaviour of the ATARI 800 libretro port. It seems that this version runs at "full speed" (the sound is running much faster) it's almost impossible to make changes entering with F1 (on the physical keyboard) into the emulator menu. The game speed itself seems normal. I'm also not able to change the system to PAL. Display color changes are saved (Presets) but the PAL switch is not alterable (Is there a difference between TV and monitor mode?). Onscreen game speed always only shows "0%". (I even directly edited the atari800.cfg file manually).

This is only a request of mine: Would it be possible to program joystick switches in order to enter the Emulator setup and putting SELECT, OPTION and START on the controller, too? I mean it's nice to leave the emulator with the Hotbutton + START, but for entering a game you need to use the keyboard in most of the titles (F2 for OPTION, F3 for SELECT and F4 for START).

By the way, great work and big thanks to all associated programmers ...

Best wishes, retoxdafreak
