- To get an API key for OpenWeather click here
- Sign up for an account, and sign in.
- Once you are signed in, click on the API keys tab.
- Locate the API key called Default. You'll use this key(YOUR_NEW_API_KEY) in every request you make to the OpenWeather API.
- Clone or download to your local repository
- add .env to our .gitignore file now.
- create a .env file in the root directory of our project
- The variable that we're storing in the .env is the key: API_KEY
- run npm install
- in your terminal, run $npm install [email protected] --save-dev
- npm run start to build and launch server
