This is the old deprecated repo for the old Immersive Portals Forge version in MC 1.14, 1.15 and 1.16. The new Forge version repo: https://github.com/iPortalTeam/ImmersivePortalsModForForge

Immersive Portals Mod for Forge

https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/immersive-portals-for-forge

The Forge version is being provided but not supported. Only the Fabric version(https://github.com/qouteall/ImmersivePortalsMod) is still being supported.

The most code is remapped from the Fabric version(https://github.com/qouteall/ImmersivePortalsMod)

immersiveportalsmodforforge's Issues

Pink Colouring When Using Shaders

When using this mod, any form of shaders being used (including the "internal shaders" that do nothing I have ever noticed) causes a pink colour to show up on a variety of things, including shadows (only when smooth lighting is not off), stars, water, some plants. While I personally prefer 1.7.10 or 1.12.2, I've moved up to 1.14 because I love being able to have shaders and these kinds of portals at the same time.

Upon further inspection, it appears the pink shows up only if the shaderpack does not have dimension-specific shaders for the dimension on the other side of the portal.

Would it be possible to allow the portals to somehow use the default shaders or whatever when there is no specific dimension shaders?

Mirrors improperly reflect certain entities

The mirror image of a painting shows the wooden backside texture.

The mirror image of a minecart is inverted.

The mirror image of a boat is inverted and contains z-fighting.

[Bug?][1.14.4] Can't See Through the Portal

Minecraft Version: 1.14.4
Mod Version: immersive-portals-0.15
Forge Version: 28.2.0

I'm not sure why, but my portals just look like this.
2020-02-16_12 53 37
2020-02-16_12 53 40

I am using shaders with optifine if that matters. Im using Sildurs Vibrant Shaders v1.22 medium.
Optifine HD U F5

Compatibility issue with NEAT / Mine and Slash

Experiencing this issue using the 1.14.4 version of the mod - immersive-portals-0.14(for mc 1.14 with forge).jar and MixinBootstrap-1.0.1.jar

The issue is that there is a hud that's supposed to appear over mobs heads when using the following mod: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/neat

When IP is installed, the info above enemy heads doesn't render.

There's another post regarding huds missing from Mine and Slash (#6). Mine and Slash contains a port of NEAT that pretty much has the same exact issue. You can probably consolidate that post into this one.

Tested with Forge 1.14.4-28.1.111 and 1.14.4-28.1.113
Testing done with all mods except IP and NEAT just to rule out other mods interfering.

Not working 1.15.2

2020-02-16_18 47 27
Using MixinBootstrap-1.0.1 and immersive-portals-0.4(for+mc+1.15+with+forge)

Is it that it works for 1.15.1 and not for the .2 or it may be other thing? there is no crash log or anything that i can show you besides it not working.

If you cant help, it's okey, your mod looks awesome

Mirrors can be pushed

Shulkers, shulker boxes, and pistons can move mirrors, leading to weird results. Attached are my experiments with shulkers.

portals break rendering on mekanism piping + other mod rendered items

immersive-portals-0.4(for mc 1.15 with forge)
Mekanism-1.15.2-9.9.14.406

using immersive portals and mekanism creates a rendering bug for item pipes etc

https://imgur.com/a/uN48Rx9

the mekanism stuff still works fine its just rendering which is broken , the rendering issue only happens when you leave render distance / chunk the item pipes are in when there is a portal nearby. confirmed to be immersive portals breaking the rendering so thought id post it here instead of the mekanism github

client log with errors https://pastebin.com/261cXQva

[suggestion] universal transition

would it be possible to make a universal transition for stuff that isn't explicitly supported like what betterpotals does?

that would outright improve mod support quite a bit if so (although you won't necessarily be seamlessly walking through the portals so #20 is still worthwhile)

player character freeze when respawn

player dead and push respawn.
player character respawn at spawnpoint. but freeze(can't move).
I can see my arm but my character block my camera(I can see only inside of my skin).
I can switch view to 3rd person camera by push F5.
when I move my mouse, camera rotate but character do not.
if my gamode is survival, mobs can interact me. for example, zombies can attack me. my character take damage but do not be knockback.
if I open inventory, it will be close immediatly. advancement window function normally.
finally, when I click anywhere(bare-hand attack), game crash with error message "attempting to attack an invalid entity". then go to multi-player server list screen even I was playing single-player game.
I can continue to play if I just go to single-player mod again and just load world once more.

it happen high chance at first death, but not always.
while I testing, /kill command can repruduce but natural death with survival mode has more chance.
after I changed forge version 31.1.16 from 13.1.14, it seems reproduce chance decreased but may be just feeling.
I tested only without bed. and single-player. and not uninstalled resource packs when I testing.

here are screenshots

01 - after respawn. this is inside of my character skin.

02 - after switch view. my character don't look at camera.

[Suggestion] change /portal set portal destination so it can be run from command blocks

Currently /portal requires a player looking at a portal to execute it.
I am trying to make a device that can move portals using commands
currently I have to use a method that requires me to have the destination armour stand run /execute as @p run /portal set_portal_destination overworld ~ ~ ~
so that when I look at the portal it updates destination.
also the destination portal sometimes stops working.

You cannot join a dedicated server

MineCraft 1.14.4
Forge : 28.1.111
MixinBootstrap-1.0.0.jar, immersive-portals-1.14-1 (forge) .jar are on the server and on the client in the mod folder

Please check times.
Greetings Lice
p.s. There is no crash or anything, you just can't connect to the server

Breaks forge support for allowing other blocks as nether portal frames

Forge: 31.1.19
Immersive portals (for forge): 0.6

When I was trying to test this mod, and I decided to use refined obsidian blocks (from Mekanism), for the portal frame, but nothing happened. I then tried regular obsidian and it did properly make a portal appear. A while back I made a PR to forge, MinecraftForge/MinecraftForge#6389 to add support for allowing mods to add support for their custom blocks to be supported as portal frames. It seems like this mod is breaking that feature. I would consider this a bug, which is why I opened this separately from #32

Entities inconsistently travel through portals

Entities like items, arrows, and even mobs do not travel through portals consistently. For non-mobs, they randomly travel or don't travel through the portal. For mobs, my testing has shown that they consistently travel through vertical portals, but never through horizontal portals.

Edit: Further testing indicates that mobs with some horizontal momentum tend to travel through portals while those that fall straight down do not.

Video demonstration

Issue with good night's sleep

Go to dream dimension by clicking bed may cause client to see nothing.
Using /portal tpme command or /forge setdimension command to go to dream dimension works fine

Player loses Player Capability on Dimension Change

playing with "Mine and Slash reloaded" and "corail's tombstone", both mods break after passing through a nether portal, until the player reconnects.

McRobertx22 from Mine and Slash discord suggests "its probably deleting capabilities on dimension change"

See portals/mirrors through blocks with shaders

2020-02-17_14 10 07
System: macOS Mojave 10.14
Mods:
forge-1.14.4-28.2.1
Immersive-portals-0.15(for+mc+1.14+with+forge)
MixinBootstrap-1.0.1
OptiFine_1.14.4_HD_U_F5

Occurance:
Portals can be placed and look normal according to the mod without shaders and behave normally with shaders. The issue is that if shaders (Chocapic, Kuda, Sildur) are enabled and you place a block in front of the portal then you can see the other side of the portal through that block.
No crash or anything, you just can´t hide a portal behind a wall if a shader is on. (Same with mirrors)

Not the biggest hinderance because I can make and break portals with redstone circuits but I thought reporting this can help you improving the mod.
With this said: Great work, I´m so in love with this mod ^-^

Edit: Ah, didn´t know you can add a screenshot here.
I hope this helps a little with the description.

cause crash when using with some of MixinBootstrap mods

for example, immersive portal mod + water erosion mod will crash at FML early loading progress.
I asked to MixinBootstrap github, and here is answer

The first issue with water-erosion and immersive-portals crashing super early is due to both of these mods naming their refmap files main.refmap.json, These files overwrite each other and as a result it can cause the Mixin mappings to go missing. The developers of theses mods should be naming their refmap so they are unique, this is as simple as putting the mod id in the file name.

in this time, it can be fix even you do nothing if water-erosion mod change name of main.refmap.json, but I suggest also change name of main.refmap.json in immersive-portals because I think this case will be happen again easilly whenever someone release a mod that using mixinbootstrap.

13rac1/Minecraft-Water-Erosion#10 (comment)

thx for reading and cool mod.

[Suggestion] Mod compatibility for other mod´s portals?

not much needed in 1.14 but when the mod is in 1.15
aswell as other mods:
-Mekanism´s teleporter portal
-twilight forest´s portal
-other stuff that may come in 1.15

also for fabric version too if any mods like those comes to fabric

Immersive Portals Mixin not working.

Mirrors don't work with portals

Mirrors tend to ignore portals. When in the same dimension, mirrors allow you to see right though the portal. When in a different dimension than the mirror, the mirror displays a weird, zoomed image that is difficult to describe.

Crash when using 31.0.13

Crash log: https://paste.dimdev.org/yewuwayoko.rb

I just updated from 31.0.1 to 31.0.13 and this just happens at launch.

Since it says something related to MixinBootstrap-1.0.1.jar i suspected it was related to that dependency ImmersivePortals have (for forge).

Anyway thanks for this mod!

[suggestion] dimension

hello I find your mod excellent, I test it since update 1.15.2. forge
this morning I just saw and tested the dimensions 2 3 4, I love the 2 which reproduces overworld.
for the creators, it would be good to make a dimension 5, total air without structure,
to be able to add for example minigame,
or like me terraforming hub etc.
I know it's not easy, but to see the rapid evolution of the mod, I think it's a challenge that may interest you

sorry for my english, i'm french translated by google
