Is pyglet still maintained? I see the latest news from 2012.
Perhaps there is a better match for pydicom. I assume this was supposed to be a used as a quick viewer or something. Might be http://glumpy.github.io is suited for this. Probably best is to just close this issue for now until someone comes up with something...

Yes, this is an old issue, time to close it. I don't think it is necessary for pydicom to provide a connection to a particular graphics library... some hints through documentation should be enough.
