support-panel's Issues

"pop-support gtk" creates an unsized window on systems w/out tiling turned on

The newly launched Pop!OS support panel also includes a command-line verison named pop-support, and one of the options is pop-support gtk, which opens up the same widget that's now in the Settings app, only as its own window.

When you're using Pop!OS without tiling enabled (as I do), the widget window doesn't size correctly. It can be resized once opened but it's essentially the minimum size for an app. This is likely to be confusing for users and I don't think it's the intended behavior.

Error while loading fallback language

What am I missing on Manjaro? It detects the language as en properly. Built from the latest commit with Rust 1.59.0:

We have Glibc 2.35, maybe that's why?

Simplify log collection with Wormhole or file sharing integration

On occasion, log files can be oversized and need to be uploaded to a third-party service. Services like Wormhole or FFSend provide a more secure protocol than e-mail (which some customers prefer for privacy). Additionally, the ethereal nature (24hrs of storage on Wormhole) protects data.

If file size is too large, customers often ask for another service that they can securely use to provide their sensitive data.

Next, since it is stored either P2P or on Wormhole, we would not be collecting personal data en masse. Adding an option to share a Wormhole link or FFSend integration would provide a quick and easy way to share logs.

Finally, the support view on System76 user accounts does not allow users to upload attachments when starting a new support case. Providing a way to share a link from the start of a ticket would also expedite the support process and give users a quicker turnaround in diagnosing their issues.
