rgbblocks's Issues

WallBlocks

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I am working on feature for my own mod, tried to make a WallBlock with color handlers using your mod as an example, but found out they don't like the color handlers or something else with the way you do the other block types. (The infamous "ReportedException: Rendering overlay" that doesn't explain shit)

Describe the solution you'd like
Is this a problem you are aware of and just haven't come up with a solution (How deep does this rabbit hole go, and should a relative rookie even try going down it), or have you just not done it yourself?

(I also use your mod regularly outside of examples for my own mod, and it is AMAZING to build with. So even past figuring out my own coding problem, it would be cool to have it in this mod)

[Feature]: Borderless Antiblock

Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the existing issues

Description

The Antiblocks already included with RGB Blocks are amazing, even working wonderfully with shader bloom!
I was wondering if it would be possible to include a border-less version of anti-blocks?
Would be an amazing addition - and if it would be possible to see on 1.20.1 that would be doubly appreciated albeit not a requirement by any means.

Ideas on how to implement it

Best way most likely is removing the border from the already existing anti-block texture and adding it as a new block

Worst case I would be fine digging around in the code and potentially PR'ing it myself

Mod Compatibility

I'm trying to build a big pixel art using RGB Blocks, sadly there is no fast and easy way for me to place them except for doing it by hand. I tried WorldEdit, Create (Creative WorldReshaper), Building Gadgets and even ConstructionWand. All of these blocks either place a fully black concrete block or don't place one at all. Would it be possible to fix that in the near future as it is very frustrating.

[Chisel and Bits compatibility] ...

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
So I saw on the main page that you told someone to open up an issue on github for compatibility for C&B. I think this mod would be the PERFECT companion mod with chisel and bits, especially since Flat Colored Blocks is no longer being supported. The problem is I don't know if it would be even possible for the two mods to work together without both developers doing something together to make it work, just because of the nature of both mods. I have a feeling this is something that will require the most work on C&Bs end.

Describe the solution you'd like
For Chisel and Bits (The new one) to be able to chisel away at custom color blocks and be able to place chiseled bits of the colored blocks. Basically full compatibility. The only way I could see this working from your end is to turn every possible block/color combination into a real individual block which sounds absolutely ridiculous so I won't even bother suggesting it. My suggestion would be to contact the C&B mod author directly. (here's a link to the community run C&B discord: https://discord.gg/SMYAdKYm and here's a link to the official discord: https://discord.com/invite/RrnACqpzP5 )

Describe alternatives you've considered
Well like I said I imagine the main bulk of the work would be C&B making itself compatible with your mod than the other way around. I think you could potentially work together with the C&B team if they are okay with it (assuming you also aren't busy)

Additional context
This is just a desperate plea for help since Flat Colored Blocks is dead and I REALLY want something that can replace it. Thank you for your time and patience.

Minecraft Version

1.20.1

Forge Version

1.20.1-forge--47.1.96

Mod Version

1.1.9.1

Description

The block textures for every block in the mod except for the antiblocks and the rgb bucket are missing. They were present on world creation, then went missing after second launch and have not returned. In multiplayer, other players can see the blocks with texture.

Steps to reproduce

Launch game repeatedly

A link to the the debug.log, preferably on https://gist.github.com

No response

Additional info

Part of personal modpack, over 100 other mods, so it could possibly be a conflict with another mod. I don't know if there's a list of known conflicts, though, and when the textures were present on first launch the rest of the mods in the pack were present as well.

does not allow connections to servers

minecraft version 1.16.5
forge 36.1.4

when included in a modpack for a server, attempting to connect to the server produces the error "internal exception: io.netty.handler.codec.encoderexception: java.lang.nullpointerexception"

Steps to Reproduce
run a forge server with this as one of the mods and attempt to connect
