check_switch's Issues

Does not work on Netgear poe 48 port switch

The script does not work when I try to check the number of up ports on a 48 port Netgear switch. The command line I am using is
check_switch -h <ip> -c <community> -n 48 -o u -s ports

It gives the following error:
Error in packet Reason: (tooBig) Response message would have been too large. CRITICAL - Problem with SNMP request, check user/password/host

In fact, any number greater than equal to 40 with -n gives the above error. If I use 39 or less, the script works.

Khurram

The time returned in the port(s) check is unusable

The time returned by the single port and ports check is neither the total device uptime, nor the time since the last state-switch, nor anything other that could be explained logically …

Either fix or remove it
