I'll see what I can do; this is probably an oversight, we need the reporters included in exometer.

Exometer has a somewhat complex build, which makes this stuff hard.

+1 for getting rid of netlink. It requires a C compiler and is only needed if anyone uses the exometer_netlink reporter.

I would recommend to throw exometer out as a dependency. If you - same as I - are only using the statsd reporter, someone already went through the trouble of singling that reporter out:

I'm having trouble trying to integrate exometer_report_statsd. Can any shed some light on how to get this going without pulling in exometer?

@alexgaribay I think you might need to pull in exometer for that; we do the same thing with exometer_report_opentsdb. You just declare exometer as a dep in your project and add exometer in the applications section of mix.exs.
