The app declares fingerprint feature (required by default) in the Android manifest file. However, the feature is not supported by popular Android devices such as Galaxy J7 (2016), J7 Neo, J5 (2016), J3 (2016), J2, J1Ace, Grand Prime, Grand Prime Plus, and Oppo A37f. Therefore, the Play store will not show this app on the aforementioned devices. You can make the feature optional by adding android:required="false" in the manifest file.
I'm not using the Exit button (red X cross), and I actually can't see any scenario why it can be useful on a regular basis. I would prefer to hide it altogether from the nofitication, as it only eats space and distracts from the key function of the AirUnlock.
It would make the app easier to use and look more beautiful if its notification shows only Lock button when my Mac is unlocked, and only Unlock when it's locked. Having two buttons shown all the time occupies space and does not contribute well to the UX.
Hello, I'm Denis Bogdanas, a research assistant at Oregon Stat University.
I'm working on a tool that automatically introduces runtime permission checks and requests for Android 6 apps. As part of this study I analyzed this app, looking for how permissions are referred in the code.
It looks like the method SimpleScannerActivity.onCreate() checks for permission READ_CONTACTS but requests CAMERA. This seems like a programming error. As a result permission request screen will be shown every time the app executes that code, even if permission CAMERA is already granted. This likely degrades user experience.
Recently #7 got merged into master, yet i cannot find an official/3rd party build of it, can it be added to the repo, or could someone send me the apk?
I use the app only to unlock my Mac, and never use it for locking.
I wish the AirUnlock notification is active only when Mac is locked (or turned off), but not shown whenever Mac is unlocked and in use. Will make the app look even better and percepted as a smarter app.
