airunlock-for-android's Issues

App is incompatible with popular Android devices

The app declares fingerprint feature (required by default) in the Android manifest file. However, the feature is not supported by popular Android devices such as Galaxy J7 (2016), J7 Neo, J5 (2016), J3 (2016), J2, J1Ace, Grand Prime, Grand Prime Plus, and Oppo A37f. Therefore, the Play store will not show this app on the aforementioned devices. You can make the feature optional by adding android:required="false" in the manifest file.

Allow to hide Exit (red X) button from the notification

I'm not using the Exit button (red X cross), and I actually can't see any scenario why it can be useful on a regular basis. I would prefer to hide it altogether from the nofitication, as it only eats space and distracts from the key function of the AirUnlock.

QR Code Error

Hey,

thanks for the nice work. However, I have an issue.

I have installed the apk through F-Droid on my LineageOS 15.1 android phone and the app on macOS 10.13.3.

However, when starting the app on the mac and scanning the QR Code using the phone, it just says "QR Code Error" and keeps scanning.

I tried restarting the app on the mac and on the phone, but still the same.

A logcat of the action.

Unintentional check for READ_CONTACTS on Android 6

Hello, I'm Denis Bogdanas, a research assistant at Oregon Stat University.
I'm working on a tool that automatically introduces runtime permission checks and requests for Android 6 apps. As part of this study I analyzed this app, looking for how permissions are referred in the code.

It looks like the method SimpleScannerActivity.onCreate() checks for permission READ_CONTACTS but requests CAMERA. This seems like a programming error. As a result permission request screen will be shown every time the app executes that code, even if permission CAMERA is already granted. This likely degrades user experience.

Would you be interested to fix this issue?

best regards,
Denis
