Power cycles on after turning off using button or remote

When using the IR remote or power button to power off the device, the device will safely shutdown and remain off for several minutes, then power on again without initiating a power on from remote or button. Using ssh to sudo shutdown keeps it off, as does disconnecting power supply between the power off/on cycle.

Disable/Turn off the infrared sensor

Hello,

Do you have advice on how to disable the infrared sensor? I can make changes to the code and what not, but Im not familar with the pins used.

The problem I am seeing is that the PI is turning off randomly with the software. The power button light indicator is still on, but it just shuts off. I wanted to read the pins myself and write a python script to turn off the pi manually. Any help would be awesome.

remoteswitch source

Can we get the source code for the remoteswitch binary? I would like to make the reset button run a script rather than reset the system. Or is there a way that I could change the behavior without touching the source code?

How to enable remoteswitch manually with Ubuntu Server 18.04.2

I have Piboxy case and installed Ubuntu 18.04.2 on RPi2B. I executed automated install with "curl -sSL piboxy.com/install | bash". The result(error) was:
sudo: dtparam: command not found
Remote Key I2C Synchronizing...(1/30)
(snip)
Remote Key I2C Synchronizing...(30/30)
Working in default mode.Code = -3

So, how can I install to work piboxy manually? I did:
Enable I2C via raspi-config installed from https://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian/pool/main/r/raspi-config/raspi-config_20190424_all.deb . After install, choose "5 Interfacing Options" -> "P5 I2C Enable/Disable automatic loading of I2C kernel module" to enable I2C.
Installed i2c-tools. i2c-detect -l says "i2c-1 i2c bcm2835 I2C adapter I2C adapter". The device file "/dev/i2c-1" exists. i2cdetect -y 1 works fine.
Installed WiringPi from https://unicorn.drogon.net/wiringpi-2.46-1.deb . gpio readall works fine.

Issues are

  1. /etc/rc.local is not exist any more in Ubuntu 18.04. The installer retrieve from this but can't do nothing.
  2. What does "sudo remoteswitch -r 17 -s 18 -n 4" mean? Every boot time execute this command to be enabled reset / power button? Or how to execute this command manually in test use? I got the result message "Remote Key I2C Synchronizing...(30/30) Working in default mode.Code = -3" and what "Code = -3" means?

Installing on a RECALBOX

Hi,
I'm trying to install the remoteswitch on a recalbox which AFAIK is similar to BATOCERA.
I changed the hostname check in the initial part of the switch,
but now I'm stuck.
the script
/recalbox/scripts/recalbox-save-overlay.sh
is not present anymore.
I cannot chmod +x the bin file
/recalbox/share/system/bin/remoteswitch
and so I can't execute it.
The same applies for the
/recalbox/share/system/custom.sh
file.

Any hint? Thanks

Is there any chance to put it up again?
A pinout of the board would help too, so I could make my own script to get the "reset"-button to work.
