Why does this only happen when I upgrade to 4.2.18 and fixes when I reflash to 4.2.17?

Okay thanks for the help, are there any videos on how to clean and resolder the Dram available? Also its not the frame-shearing I am too concerned about (do want it fixed) but the fact that going from 4.2.17 to 4.2.18 results in prints that look like an lcd failure.

Yeh that was my original thinking when I updated I must have damaged the screen, but downgrading fixed it. Only thing I can think of is that the firmware that introduced frame-shearing actually fixed the memory overflow on my board by accident, but when frame-shearing was fixed my board started overflowing. As this also happens when I flash to the only other firmware that does not have frame shearing

Did you ever figure out what is causing this? I am having the exact same problem. My screen looks just like yours after updating.

I don't think that's a bad DRAM issue. Mine also does just this after I've updated it to 4.2.19. The UV LEDs flicker in constant intervals now. Guess I'm going back to 4.2.17.
