apps2org's Issues

[question] pull request for willemw12/apps2org

Could you pull the UI changes by @willemw12 ( https://github.com/willemw12/apps2org ) into your app? I am new to github and I know that it is actually the fork owner's responsibility to make a pull request. IDK why he hasn't done that so far - the released app version 1.6.1 is stable.
The F-Droid bot only monitors your repo, not willemw12's one; and having a separate app on F-Droid just for that fork is not necessary, IMHO.
For making a pull request: master...willemw12:ui

app and label list distorts and flickers when swiping down

Hello everybody, I really love this app, it is extremly useful. However, I do have a big graphical problem with only this app: If I swipe down in the app or labels list, the list starts to flicker and distort itself. I made two screenshots of this behaviour (a video would have been too big, unfortunately):

Unfortunately, adb logcat does not report any error.
I hope, this error can be fixed without rewriting the whole graphical part of the app (if it is because of the used graphical library).....

Software:
operating system: cyanogenmod 13.0-2016-08-20,
android version: 6.0.1
app version: 1.6.0

Hardware:
modell: Moto G falcon (1st generation)
display size: 1280ร—720 px

Do you have any idea what the reason is for this behaviour?

Apps Label instead of real Label Name displayed

installed it, created a few labels and placed the schortcuts to labels (or ist widgets?) on the home screen.

After reboot the icons are there with only Apps Label instead of the real one. When I click on the AppsLabel the window opens with showing the correct label, and after I close it the wrong one again.

Missing app icons on Android 8

Hi,

I recently migrated from Android 7 to Android 8 (LineageOS 14.1 to 15.1) and noticed that Apps2org fails to display some apps icon, and displays a default icon instead.

What's really weird is that some icons are displayed properly. I can't find any pattern yet : old/new, restored/freshly installed, from F-Droid/Google Play... there's no rule.

Reloading the apps in Apps2org menu won't change anything either.

Suggestion : make starred apps stand out more in each folder

Hi !
I've been a user of apps2org for years now, and though it's pretty much perfect, I had a suggestion to make :

I sort all my apps in the default folders, star the most useful of them (I have the "starred apps first" option on), then add the folders to my home screen. So far, so good.

However, some folders look wierd when you open them, as you can't spontaneously tell where is the limit between starred apps showing first, and regular apps with alphabetically prior order (I do have a bit of OCD sometimes).

Easy solution : put a different background color under the starred apps, so that they stand out more than regular ones.
(And come to think of it : it would be even more useful when you DON'T activate the "starred icons first") :-)

Cannot add label shortcut on Android 8 home screen from within Apps2org

Same context as #7

When long-pressing a label in Apps2org, there's the option to add that label to the home screen.

Since I migrated to Android 8 (LineageOS 15.1), it doesn't work anymore (I'm currently using Lawnchair https://github.com/LawnchairLauncher/Lawnchair but the same happens with several other launchers, including Trebuchet).

I can add a label shortcut by long-pressing the home screen, tapping Widgets, then adding an Apps2org widget, but it's much more tedious (many extra steps needed).
