library(imf.data)
HPDD <- load_datasets("HPDD")
The code above returns the following error:
Error in x[, c("@value", "Description.#text")] :
incorrect number of dimensions
For some other datasets, like DOT or IFS, it works fine, however.
This code works without a problem
foo <- function() {
dta_IFS <- imf.data::load_datasets("IFS")
dta_IFS$get_series(freq = "Q", indicator = "BFDA_BP6_USD", ref_area = "US")
}
foo()
but this code will throw an error
foo <- function() {
dta_IFS <- imf.data::load_datasets("IFS")
myindicator <- "BFDA_BP6_USD"
dta_IFS$get_series(freq = "Q", indicator = myindicator, ref_area = "US")
}
foo()
# Error in eval(as_list(match.call())) : object 'myindicator' not found
The problem seems to stem from the helper function here
template_get <- function(start_period = NULL, end_period = NULL){
x <- eval(as_list(match.call()))
return(get0(x, ID))
}
The eval()
will use the function's environment to resolve the variables rather than the calling environment. If you change eval()
to eval.parent()
then both cases would work just fine.
