When I do

λ gem install pdf-merger
ERROR:  Could not find a valid gem 'pdf-merger' (>= 0) in any repository
ERROR:  Possible alternatives: pdf-reader, codemerger, merger, pdf_reader, pdf-writer

Is it pushed to RubyGems?

When attempting the default recommended install, i get the rails error "cannot load such file -- rjb"

It seems that the gem is installed and required just fine, I'm not sure what is the issue.

We found a memory leak with RJB. We think the ruby can't do garbage collection on objects in lines 26-28 in https://github.com/paulschreiber/pdf-merger/blob/master/lib/pdf/merger/rjb.rb because the JVM is outside of ruby's domain.

If you need to process a large number of pdfs, you may need to restart your program a few times.

I wanted to have a look at your gem, but I have problems with installation... First it`s not possible to install it by 'sudo gem install pdf-merger' - it's not listed in github gems... I've downloaded the source and installed it manually, but I cannot run it and it's very strange. In my ruby code I have:

require 'rubygems'
puts Gem.available?('pdf-merger')
require 'pdf-merger'

And the output is:

$ ruby test.rb
true
/opt/local/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in `gem_original_require': no such file to load -- pdf-merger (LoadError)
from /opt/local/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:31:in `require'
