A collection of sample Vagrant configurations using Puppet. Starting out simple and getting more complex.
How would you recommend the puppet files be re-used in production, but omit that last step since I obviously don't want to overwrite the production database.
In development, vagrant reload
should destroy & reinflate the database
In production, no databases should be altered when I use puppet appy
How is this done?
On line 5 in the config.php file the DB_DSN is defined as:
'mysql:host=db;dbname=dynamic'
Should this now be:
'mysql:host=ex6db;dbname=dynamic'
…given that the hostnames were updated in the Vagrantfile?
Well, that's the output I get from example3, but I'm guessing they all have it.
Here's output:
There were warnings and/or errors while loading your Vagrantfile
for the machine 'default'.
Your Vagrantfile was written for an earlier version of Vagrant,
and while Vagrant does the best it can to remain backwards
compatible, there are some cases where things have changed
significantly enough to warrant a message. These messages are
shown below.
Warnings:
* `config.vm.customize` calls are VirtualBox-specific. If you're
using any other provider, you'll have to use config.vm.provider in a
v2 configuration block.
Thanks a lot, this is extremely helpful.
But some problems in Example 5: dynamic does not work.
add
ini_set("display_errors", 1);
to public/index.php. You'll see why you didn't see anything: you have problems with mysql.
change @'%' to @'localhost' in dynamic.sql
DocumentRoot is not executed as given in dynamic-site.conf, so http://192.168.0.42/dynamic-site/ or http://myprecisebox/dynamic-site/ will show the directory structure of dynamic-site instead of dynamic-site/public/index.php
As a result, references to href in the html files fail. No idea how to fix this yet.
