I think its better if you review that part of the code refactoring. I am pretty sure that the numbers do what they should but I think I need your fresh pair of eyes on code structure and unnecessary functions like .sel(1900...)
I think this is still an intermediate step. The more generic version will arise when we apply all functions and methods on perfect-model and the hindcast world. All the damped persistence forecast functions haven't been touched from this perspective.
