These are the things we need:

• Parse DNS Update (RFC2136) requests
• Send appropriate DNS responses
• Notify when change is complete (e.g. by incrementing SOA serial)
• Support transactions for rolling back incomplete changes
• Create a working sqlite3 backend
• Create a working PostgreSQL backend
• Create a working pdns-redis backend
• Offer an HTTP API for making updates that way
  • Include support for the ad-hoc "no-ip" A record updates
• Implement sensible logging
• Document how it all works
• Add setup.py and friends, push to PyPI

Nice-to-haves which other people might contribute?

• Create a working MySQL/MariaDB backends
• Create a working example for interacting with PowerDNS databases?
• Create an nsupdate backend (for users who already have RFC2136, but want the HTTP API)
