osfeels.com-2015's Issues

Tickets Design Decision Time!

Hey all,

It looks like the tickets branch's design was changed before it got merged in. I did some work this evening to make it more consistent with Amy's design. I'm concerned, however, that it looks almost indistinguishable from the homepage at first glance. Given that, and the fact that I've also been having some issues getting things to line up consistently, I brought back the previous one column layout in another branch as an alternate option.

Mobile (iPhone) issue with hamburger

On an iPhone 5s with Chrome I noticed the x to close the sidebar moved to a higher point than the hamburger…

I could not reproduce in the dev environment using the Chrome Mobile dev tool.

Add an Info page

..or something, but a big page that has details about

  • Venue, including it's location, ADA stuff (elevator and headsets for hearing impaired)
  • How To Get Here:
    • Where to Park
    • Bus lines that get you to the venue, and a link to the "How To Ride Transit" videos
    • SeaTac airport, how to ride the train?
  • nearest 3 hotels (Silver Cloud... downtown? meh.. I don't know! :D something on a busline?)
  • map of Venue and our 5 favorite coffee shops
  • same, but with 8 good places to eat of various cuisines and price points
  • anything else I'm forgetting that is good to know

Improperly HTML escaped bio

Double quotes appear within the title attribute

<div class="speakers--info-box" data-toggle="tooltip" title="Tute Costa studied Computer Sciences in Argentina, worked on and contributed to different Open Source Projects, and now works at thoughtbot NYC. He released a beta version of the book "Maintaining Open Source Projects", where he covers mainly the non-technical aspects of the job.">

Move CFP Call to Action up

The CFP Call to Action is not visible in the first or second page when I scroll on a MBP 15" fullscreen browser. This is our most important content.

Please make this visible above the fold. I believe you can also reduce the font size on our tagline so that it only takes one line.

Code of Conduct: Hyperlinking in "Long Version" Section needs rework

Within Firefox and Chrome, the hyperlinks in "Long Version" do not take the user to the correct section on the COC page.

This can be a low priority item to fix, as the current link click experience is that if the link is opened in a new tab, the COC page will appear (link does not result in error page, etc.).

Mainly noting this because I would like to fix this either tonight or sometime this weekend, but thought y'all would like a heads up about this behavior. <3

Speaker bios cannot contain links

The speaker bios are presented as a tooltip. Both Audrey Eschright and Eric Holscher submitted bios with links in them. Tooltips can only handle plaintext, not HTML, to resolve this issue we'll have to change how speaker bios are displayed.

Please add a LICENSE file

This repo is public, and the conference is all about open source, but code needs more than just public distribution to make it legally open. Could you add a LICENSE file to confirm whether OSFeels is in fact OS, and if so what kind?

http://choosealicense.com/ might be helpful here.

Thanks!

Integrate Travis CI

We have a few specs (which confirm that all of the pages actually load) and it would be great if Travis ran our specs before merging.
