bc_example_jupyter's Issues

JupyterLab on multiple nodes?

This app will launch a Jupyter Notebook server on one or more nodes.

- bc_num_slots

Would JupyterLab work as expected if run on multiple nodes? When the user logs in to their server, which node does the link lead to?

It was my understanding that the only way for processes to work together across multiple nodes is if they use message passing or memory parallelization. Is that not true? Does JupyterLab come with these features?

Looking around, I found that Princeton says that JupyterLab should be run on just one node:

Fix code comments in submit.yml.erb

If a user replaces bc_num_slots with custom_num_slots, this will cause the ERB in the submit.yml.erb comments to raise an error.

Possible solutions:

  • replace YAML comments with ERB comments
  • add links that point to examples in documentation

Review/improve installation documentation for external sites

From Community Requests:

still get lots of requests for other GUI apps besides Jupyter and how to customize iHPC apps, which means our documentation and website is not offering enough clear direction in how to do this; website enhancements to make finding all of this easier would be helpful
