Hi @hexagon5un : Did you use sudo pip install rainbowstream ? Can you check if there is a file at /root/.rainbow_config_json ? I think somehow the setup went wrong and wasn't able to create the initial file at /home/elliot/.rainbow_config.json.

Anyway the full document is at ReadTheDocs, and here is the default config file.

RainbowStream first load this default config and after that trying to load your ~/.rainbow_config.json, so it can run well even in case your config is messed up. But your own config will let you customize many thing inside the app.

In addition, as you can see in h command, there is a config command which let you modify any config value :)

Hi. It happened exactly as you thought -- config file installed in root. For myself, I ended up just copying the default config (after finding it) which solved everything.

My point is that you might include a sentence or two (with a link?) about the default config file in the ReadTheDocs page, to help folks out. As it is, it requires some sleuthing on the part of the user to even get the program fired up the first time.
