desmume-core's Introduction

OpenEmu

alt text

OpenEmu is an open-source project whose purpose is to bring macOS game emulation into the realm of first-class citizenship. The project leverages modern macOS technologies, such as Cocoa, Metal, Core Animation, and other third-party libraries. One third-party library example is Sparkle, which is used for auto-updating. OpenEmu uses a modular architecture, allowing for game-engine plugins, allowing OpenEmu to support a host of different emulation engines and back ends while retaining the familiar macOS native front end.

Currently, OpenEmu can load the following game engines as plugins:

Minimum Requirements

macOS Mojave 10.14.4

Building the default branch requires Xcode 14.3 and macOS Ventura.

desmume-core's Issues

Game blacks out when using tms/hms on Pokemon platinum

Every time I try to teach my Pokemon a tm/hm, the game turns black. I can still hear the music, but I'm not able to see the screen or do anything. Keeps happening every time I try to use hm/tm on my pokemon. Have tried resetting/closing the game and turning off/on my Mac, but no fix.

desmume Dragon Quest V white screen (core update needed?)

Dragon Quest V exhibits white loading screen then crash on older versions of desmume, including the core currently in openemu. This is bug OpenEmu/OpenEmu#1439 on their system and has been resolved in newer versions. I can confirm the same rom working fine on standalone macos desmume 0.9.13.

fast forward not working anymore on OSx 13.4.1 Ventura

Hi all,

idk if it's related to it, but after the update to OSx 13.4.1 (Ventura) the "fast forward" during emulation does not work anymore, when i press the assigned key i can see the >> arrows in the game screen but the emulation does not go faster

Screenshot 2023-06-30 alle 11 08 12

here's a screenshot, you can see the >> arrows but the emulation is still at "regular" speed.

thanks for the support
