This is extremely slow (and it's probably taxing the server a lot).
This is the real issue; this search query shouldn't take long. We should investigate to understand why it's slow.
There's an undocumented hack: you can search for #611251
instead of 611251
, the API will normally understand that you're looking for an ID and make things a bit faster.

That being said, even if it was documented, not many people read the documentation. Would be good to write a small logic that if the search query matches /[0-9]{6}/, automatically prepend # to workaround that issue without requiring the user to RTFM :-)

It's tricky: a number like 100000
could be an amount (large ones like that usually come from added funds), a reference number from a third party provider, or part of a contribution's description, i.e., Financial contribution to "100,000 meals for caregivers"
